Curriculum Mapping is a procedure for collecting data about the actual curriculum in our school district. The fundamental purpose is communication. Mapping shows what is happening in every classroom during the course of a school year. Teachers can edit, review, validate, and develop curriculum and assessment with confidence and in context. Information included on the maps includes: state standards and benchmarks, a brief description of the content and skills emphasized, and the nature of the evidence of learning that the student produces as evidence of growth.
Troubleshooting viewing issues:
If you are using Internet Explorer and you end up viewing a message from Google docs that you need to sign in, the issue is with the security settings that you are using. The easiest solution is to view the maps with a different browser (Firefox, Chrome, Safari) and you should be able to view the maps without any issue. If you want to view the maps with Internet Explorer, you will have to adjust the security settings (you can change them back afterwards). You have to go to Tools/Internet Options and then Security. Select Trusted Sites and add curriculum.prbschools.org. Then slide the bar down for the security to low or medium low for Trusted Sites and save. Go back to the maps and refresh the screen. Remember to go back and restore your security settings after viewing the maps.
